When you miss a month of news, you suddenly realise how much news there is here at Tinney Eventing. We all needed to stop for a second after the build up to the Olympics and of course the anxiety of getting a podium finish just capped the stress levels ! However months have passed and it’s just like normal again here.
The Australian International 3DE
Firstly can we thank PYT Equine photography for the most amazing collection of pictures of War Hawk and also thank Corinna and Darren Huskinson, his owners for making this happen.
This year it was War Hawks turn to step up to 4 *. Overall we are so happy with him, a green run off took him down to 6th place but held his place with a beautiful clear round. He will be more seasoned next year, with that in mind we hope he will take the title in the 4 star !
Thank you to Horseland and bates for sponsoring the Young Rider class
It was an exceptional Adelaide for TE this year. Adelaide is an amazing event and never disappoints. Very crowd friendly, great entertainment and always a hit for TE. Not to say we have had our fair share of competing disasters over the years but we finished happy this year. With Gemma now riding John and Jane Pittards Annapurna, leading the 2* until the last day, Gemma coped very well under the pressure of jumping last, with 2 rails she fell to 3rd however still won YOUNG RIDER plus she got on that podium.

A great weekend was spent with some of our super horses. Queen Mary 4th in the 1.30m on the 1st day and winning the title on the 2nd day. Thank you to her part owners Kathy Ward and Pete O’Connell. Gemma rode a super 1.30m round to take out Young Rider on Medusa, part owned by Tim Game, thanks again. A good day for the GIRLS !
Early the year we purchased a super mare ‘Wanda’ with the intend of eventing her. Karen has ticked her along and she is now going out into pre-nov. However she certainly likes her show jumping.
