Organizing a trip to the UK with and for Gemma has taken up our spare time in the recent month, but now it is quiet! Sadly, we have been hit with some ‘horsey’ misadventures plus a ‘tweak’ with Stuart’s back all at once!
Firstly, we had planned on taking ‘Viennese’ to Melb 4*L to hopefully get an Olympic qualifier but ‘Vinnie’ in his robustness twisted his fetlock in the paddock. nothing serious but certainly some time needed to heal, so no Melbourne for us this year- This would be the first Melbourne we have missed for decades! This event has just great memories and results for us in the past so we will be sad not to attend- Our younger horses are not ready this year, but with some luck we will be there with 3 next year!!
Some of you that follow us on Insta and Facebook would have noticed that ‘PHS Hilton’ has made his trip to the UK. The expertise of Equine International Airfreight can never be faltered- ‘Hilly’ arrived safely and in fabulous health.
Shout out and thanks EQUILUME Cashel light mask, which ‘Hilly’ comfortably wore for 6 weeks prior to his trip- the claims from EQUILUME are just on point! We feel that the added benefit of summer coat and muscle retention truly stayed whilst we were hitting Autumn here in AUS.
Gemma is based with International Event rider Sammi Birch in Cirencester UK. Gemma will stay and compete for 2 years (mum hopes!!) bringing back the experience of Eventing from the UK.
Our lovely mare ‘Fernhill Aisling Star’ which was bought for Gemma by Tim Game and ourselves, will stay here and solidate her career in Eventing, she is only 6 so as much as she wants to give us her best, we must remember she is still very young 🙂
We have to thank The Equilume Cashel Light Mask

Stuart has been busy getting his fitness back after his withdraw at Equestriad due to a back injury- Lots of physio and exercise- He will spend time show-jumping the team in the next few months and of course there are The Paris Olympics to watch! JULY 27th-29th- Nearly 3 years since The Tokyo Olympics for us- such fond memories, despite the late curve ball which saw us withdraw ‘Leporis’ from the team the night prior to competition.
Handy tips to help you look after your 4-legged friend this winter
In winter you will see your horses coat and top-line change, so look at adding CopRice High Joule and or CopRice R to your feed regime.
Again, winter can make those joints stiff! Want to loosen your horse up? A course of Ceva’s Pentosan Equine, (plus you can add GOLD + HALO) is the cream of crop, Joint Health- 30 years plus of using this product at TE.
With an amazing choice of light weight, warm turn out rugs, robust, no rub and easy clip or velcro attachments- Super wide range to suit every pocket, the jewel of horse rugs.

As we are talking ‘WINTER’ part of our routine is to treat mud fever/greasy heel. The only product we use (with success) is CEVA’s FILTABAC- Summer and Winter! Get yourself a tube or tub!
We are honored to be part of the BATES Saddle Team- We hold Bates saddles in such high regard and so too do our horses-always comfortable and certainly look posh!
