Wallaby Hill followed by SYD3de for Stuart : Wallaby Hill, Syd3de and Equestriad for Gemma!
Apologies for doubling up April and May news but things have been a bit hectic here at the Tinney’s. Not sure we have come back from ‘COVID time out’ ready for back-to-back events!
We started enjoying the less stressful easier weeks, so it hit us a bit hard! Surprisingly, the horses took it all in their strides! A super run at Wallaby Hill for Stuart on Elisabeth Brinton’s ‘Celebration’ winning the CCI4*-S and Leporis 7th. Was a good run for both horses, pulling up well and then giving it their all at The SYD3de International a few weeks later. Again ‘Celebration’ winning from start to finish in the CCN4*-S (Olympic format) class and Leo 3rd. We are so blessed to have such special horses and we are super hopeful they will make it into Quarantine for Tokyo starting 2nd week of July. Fingers and toes crossed 🙂
The ‘nomination date’ for the Olympic team will be 23rd June latest, after 2 more selection trails, here and in Europe. Only 3 horses for the team, plus a travelling reserve. The reserve cannot be your 2nd horse, so only one horse per rider will travel to Tokyo.
Unluckily, Gemma’s rides started well at Wallaby Hill but did not finish as well!! The territory of Eventing. SYD3de was better with a 2nd on Tim Game’s hansom ‘Diabolo’ in the ‘Bates saddles’ CCN4*-S. PLUS 4th on ‘Dalenna Daydream’ Gemma backed up SYD3de with Equestriad, riding ‘Diabolo’ to place 3rd in the CCN4*-SS. Now we wait to see if Melbourne International is going ahead with Victoria at present in COVID lock down. Our next June news will either feature Melbourne or not 🙁
Quick shout out to our sponsors: Bates Saddles, CopRice, Ceva Equine and Horseland, Thank you always.
